Something about this year's winners:

- The culture award is divided amongst two progressive Norwegian artists that represent a way of expression in which the Anders Jahres Kulturpris have not been awarded before – Sami art and ballet. In their respective domains the prize winners have been acting renewing and revealing, also where it concerns the communicating of this. In this way they have contributed in an adequate amount to that their artistic expression has reached a bigger audience, to far outside the boundaries of Norway. With that their effort and the community serving meaning, on top of their performance as a oneman/onewoman artist, are the motivations of the jury, that consisted of Åse Kleveland (chair man), Bentein Baardson, Øivin Fjeldstad, Nina Sundbye and Kjetil Trædal Thorsen.
